Screen Print Project

In 2017 in Sep, i have traveled to Japan alone for an entire month, through out the vacation i have went to different kinds of cities, taking picture of the buildings and temples because everything felt Surreal and beautiful to me.
Coming back to the Country i wanted to develop a project related to the experience that i have felt throughout my traveling.
I have made at least 30+ pieces of prints all in different technique in A4 size hand printed, each screen print required a layer, some of the work were made from one layer to 4 layers of color.
At the end of the Project i have also made a repetitive pattern that its length never ends, also hand printed.

I started the project by drawing and observing the people in the picture
I have drawn them with counter Lines, by using Pen, Pencils and thin Pilot.
I wanted the sketches to look natural and to express the daily life that we go through in daily basis.
I mainly focused drawing people, at the end i have drawing the buildings by using illustrator.
And to draw them faces to express the idea of "no one knows you and you know no one in the city"

these are examples and samples of the steps that required from me to transform, each figure required from me to do "image trace" and fixing unwanted Line traces.
after finishing polishing the figure i had to re-add to them more objects that suits their clothes to be underneath.
sadly i could not use or fit all of my figures into the lay out design.
The Prints
project
After choosing the layout, i have made 4 different screen print, each one of them composition is perfectly lied on top of the other.
for those who are not exposed to screen printing, imagine each color that represented in each work represents " one layer".
If you see 5 colors thats because one of the layers falls on the other layer of the color which creates an additional color.
Each piece is Size A4, each one of them also used different technique, such as regular Paste Print, Foil Print, Reactive Color Print, Burn out Print and Discharge Print.
Along with it, used different Fabric for each technique.
Part of the project was to try to challenge myself and to try the layout with many technique to see what kind of martial, affect and appearance i can receive.
