Bauhaus
For this project in this semester, i have developed two projects, one of themi have chose to focus on the work of Ľudovít Fulla, in his 1933- 1932 of his bauhaus stage design, and the second one is Bauhous concept inspired by the sight seeing of Kremnica, and translate them into “Floral / Geometric / Abstract“.
Ľudovít Fulla was a Slovak painter, graphic artist, illustrator, stage designer and art teacher. He is considered one of the most important figures of Slovak creative art in the 20th century.
in his stage work design, he took inspiration from the classical european play either for drama or comedy play, such as
-
Carlo Goldoni and adolf hoffmeister - Singing venice.
-
Alexander Ostrovsky - The storm
-
Oscar Wilde - Lady Windermere's Fan
-
Etc
he reason for choosing his work, was to research the concept of “room” and “space” and try to express it by making 2D collages that breaks the norms expectation of “room/ space” or to break what we are used to see from the daily life indoor environment.
and rather try to express it into a surrealism space. which each one of them has an individual identity and story to tell.
each work is an A4 size, cut, drawn and glued by hand, the colors were inspired by the work of Fulla but with more vibrant colors and a twist of touch to break the resemblance.
each work represent its own space and story to tell.
patterns
the reason for doing this project was to invite people to redefine the word space and invite them to reimagine again our environment and disconnect ourselves from what we are used to see in our daily life.
The final chosen pattern from the Ludovit’s inspired series was decided due to its amusing color, shape and in some way also simple form of pattern, the size of the pattern is 2,5 meter of fabric made from satin.
i have chosen the satin fabric because the aim of the series collection was to aim to fashion industry, i wanted to make fabrics that are unique, abnormal, modern and different.
