In my third year, second semester of my BA - 2020 i have been researching about the LGBT+ in the Arab community, mostly focused in the countries of Palestine/Israel.
For the past years LGBT people in the middle east have always existed, but due to religious beliefs and culture norms things had to be extremely restricted in the community thus forcing them to live in the shadows, hide their identity. or even force them in an unwanted marriage living with lies and deception as long as it fulfills the community norm standards.
Along with it there has been a rise of Homophobic, Transphobic and violence against the community, thus why i found importance to develop this project into social awareness the existence of the LGBT in the arab community expressing through textile method and illustration of human figures to tell their story and identity.

Through the project, i have made a question form to LGBT arabs
( wither they are out or not ), to receive information about their Identity, subjective opinion regarding their view on the community and wither its important to bring awareness or not.
Afterwards i have illustrated persona of characters that could tell their stories, or stories of people that i know and familiar with them that can visualize the community image.

The scenes are part of the characteres life, wither its a scene interacting with their family member a scene with themselves or with friends.
these scenes are also a staged persona of the characters.
all of the illustration are made by markers, pencil and pens.
